But They Do Not Get It

Have you ever had a conversation with a person and they just do not understand your ideas and arguments? No matter what you say or which angle you come from they just do not understand? I am here to tell you that it is not their fault. There are times when people will not understand because they have not had the same experiences as you, they will not be able to understand due to their level of education, basically they will not be able to understand because they are not you. Everyone sees and experiences the world in their own way and without that understanding frustration kicks and and ultimately the desire to quit. Yet, in this world we know that those who quit do not make any impact on the world. NONE AT ALL!

Never Stopped

His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj launched many anti addiction campaigns to help bring an end to the harm that addictions caused on not only the individual, but the family, and society. While some pledged to cease their use of addictive substances there were many that did not. This never stopped His Holiness from trying. His Holiness Yogiji Maharaj started youth assembly in the BAPS organization. In the start many volunteers would start a youth assembly but due to the lack of people in attendance volunteers would stop organizing. This didn’t stop Yogiji Maharaj from trying, he would continually write letters to give people the motivation and understanding to keep trying and now around the world every Sunday children gather in their mandir’s (pre-covid) for their youth assembly. We can see that to help make a better society there will always be obstacles but Pramukh Swamiji was never deterred from helping people get on the right path.

Helping Hand

This is what I need to understand. I can’t be deterred because something that I am working on is running into obstacles. Life is filled with them, people will tell me it is not worth my time, but if I am able to help even one person that is one more person I would have been able to help than if I had quit. Change is slow, change takes time, and it is the patient that win in the long run. One of my mentors always reminds me that life is a marathon not a sprint. I have to remember that in the hyper fast world we live in today. Thus I remember today that I can’t stop moving forward in the right direction and helping those also move in a positive direction.
